The Eat Well Meal Plan Philosophy
In my experience counseling adults and children with dietary concerns since 1987, I have constantly seen confusion about how to construct meals that were both nutritionally well-balanced and enjoyable to eat. More than once I’ve been asked by the frustrated person across from me, “Just tell me what to eat!”
The Problems
- A tidal wave of often-contradictory food and nutrition information coming at us from the media and online.
- Endless shelves of packaged foods boasting nutritional claims like “All Natural!” ”Trans-fat Free!” and “High Fiber!”
- Increasingly busy lives that give no real time for meal planning and/or preparation
No wonder people are grabbing at anything that’s convenient in order to get food on the table!
Unfortunately, most of it is NOT particularly nutritious: loaded with sugars (often cleverly disguised),
fillers, chemicals, and other less-than-healthy ingredients.
